A group of inexperienced and quarrelsome amateur superheroes, along with their renowned but jobless counterpart, face a threat when their nemesis is released from an asylum, leading them to undergo training, seek assistance, and ultimately save the city, only to squabble over their team name. Mystery Men is a 1999 American English-language Action Comedy film featuring Ben Stiller, Hank Azaria, William H. Macy, Greg Kinnear, Claire Forlani, Kel Mitchell and Stephanie D abruzzo. The movie is inspired from Flaming Carrot Comics by Bob Burden. Golar Productions in association with Dark Horse Entertainment. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Lawrence Gordon, Lloyd Levin and Mike Richardson. Mystery Men is written by Neil Cuthbert and Bob Burden and it is directed by Kinka Usher. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Mystery Men was released on 16th December 1999 and takes a screen time of 120 minutes. Mystery Men was made on a budget of $68 million and at the box office it grossed only $33 million. Cinematography was done by Stephen H. Burum and editing by Conrad Buff. The music was composed by Stephen Warbeck.
