GMA Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. My Son was released on 20th September 2013 in Filipino and English languages. The motion picture made a box office gross of ₱11 billion. The screenplay for the movie was written by Jade Francis Castro and Aloy Adlawan. Cinematography was done by Pao Orendain III and editing by Jeremiah V. Domingo. The music was composed by Owel Alvero.
