Students at Canterlot High School prepare for the Friendship Games, but when their friends start transforming into ponies, Sunset Shimmer tries to contact Twilight Sparkle, who is dealing with similar magical activity in the parallel world and is forced to participate in the games by Principal Cinch, resulting in chaos caused by a device that accidentally drains Raritys magic, creates dimensional rifts, transforms characters, and summons monstrous plants, ultimately leading to a confrontation where Twilight turns into a monster until Sunset uses the device to defeat her, close the rifts, and realize that her friends magic is linked to the Elements of Harmony, leading to Twilight transferring to Canterlot High and meeting her counterpart in a post-credits scene.
