The movie is based on My Dog Skip by Willie Morris. Alcon Entertainment in association with MDS Productions LLC. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Mark Johnson, John Lee Hancock, Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove. My Dog Skip is written by Willie Morris and Gail Gilchriest and it is directed by Jay Russell. Warner Bros. acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. My Dog Skip was released on 3rd March 2000 and takes a screen time of 95 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. My Dog Skip was made on a budget of $6 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $35 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Gail Gilchriest. Cinematography was done by James L. Carter and editing by Micah Strickland. The music was composed by William Ross.
