The story follows Clarissa Dalloways preparations for a party while exploring the lives of those around her, including the tragedy of a WWI veteran suffering from shell-shock. Mrs Dalloway is a 1997 English-language Drama Romance motion picture featuring Vanessa Redgrave, Natascha Mcelhone, Rupert Graves, Michael Kitchen, Alan Cox, Lena Headey and Reg Thomason. The movie is based on Mrs Dalloway by Virginia Woolf. First Look Pictures in association with Newmarket Capital Group and BBC Films. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Stephen Bayly. The movie is directed by Marleen Gorris. Artificial Eye acquired the distribution rights for the film. Mrs Dalloway was released on 4th September 1997 and takes a screen time of 97 mins. Mrs Dalloway was made on a budget of $9 million and at the box office it grossed only $3 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Eileen Atkins. Cinematography was done by Sue Gibson and editing by Michiel Reichwein. The music was composed by Ilona Sekacz.
