Ten years on from the events of Monsters, and the Infected Zones have now spread worldwide. In the Middle East a new insurgency has begun. At the same time there has also been a proliferation of Monsters in that region. Written by Vertigo Films Monsters: Dark Continent is a 2014 English-language Drama Sci-Fi motion picture featuring Johnny Harris, Sam Keeley, Joe Dempsie, Kyle Soller, Nicholas Pinnock, Parker Sawyers and Desean Whipple. Vertigo Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Allan Niblo and James Richardson. Monsters: Dark Continent is written by Jay Basu and Tom Green and it is directed by Tom Green. Vertigo Films acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Monsters: Dark Continent was released on 23rd April 2015 and takes a screen time of 119 minutes. The movie made a box office gross of $0 million. Cinematography was done by Christopher Ross and editing by Richard Graham. The music was composed by Neil Davidge.

When Gareth Edwards original Monsters came out in 2010, it was a welcome breath of fresh air for the sci fi genre an atypically thoughtful and atmospheric drama about two humans falling in love and learning to wonder at the otherworldly beauty of a strange new world being born around them.
