Mister Johnson, a Nigerian man, tries to adopt British ways and falls into debt before resorting to theft and murder, ultimately leading to his downfall. Mister Johnson is a 1990 American English-language Drama motion picture starring Pierce Brosnan, Edward Woodward, Maynard Eziashi, Beatie Edney, Denis Quilley, Nick Reding and Saidu Dahiru. The movie is inspired from Mister Johnson by Joyce Cary. Avenue Pictures was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Michael Fitzgerald. The movie is directed by Bruce Beresford. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Mister Johnson was released on 7th September 1990 and takes a screen time of 97 minutes. The motion picture made a box office gross of $1 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by William Boyd. Cinematography was done by Peter James and editing by Humphrey Dixon. The music was composed by Georges Delerue. At the 1991 Berlin International Film Festival It won an award for Best Actor (Maynard Eziashi).
