A single woman living in the UK with her dying mother is determined to remain single but agrees to spend her mothers final days in India, where she decides to become a mother through IUI, meets a stand-up comedian who falls for her, proposes, and learns of her plan causing a rift between them, but eventually realizes his mistake and decides to help her through a rigorous process of sperm donation as they face obstacles and misunderstandings before reconciling and becoming a family when she gets pregnant and he supports her during delivery at the hospital.
