A boy with autism inadvertently attracts the attention of the NSA, leading to a dangerous pursuit where an FBI agent, previously demoted, protects him and uncovers corruption within the agency. The movie is inspired from Simple Simon by Ryne Douglas Pearson. Imagine Entertainment was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Brian Grazer and Karen Kehela. Mercury Rising is written by Ryne Douglas Pearson, Lawrence Konner and Mark Rosenthal and it is directed by Harold Becker. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film.
