A newlywed woman is subjected to torture and demands for dowry by her husbands family, leading to tragic consequences. Mehndi is a 1998 Indian Hindi-language Drama Family motion picture featuring Rani Mukherji, Faraaz Khan, Rani Mukerji, Ushma Rathod, Shakti Kapoor, Arjun and Akram Khan. Aftab Pictures Pvt. Ltd. was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Salim Merchant, Salim Akhtar, and Shama Akhtar. Mehndi is written by Iqbal Durrani, Sabahat Akhtar, Salim Akhtar, Samad Akhtar and Shama Akhtar and it is directed by Hamid Ali Khan and Chetan Prakash. NH Studioz acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Mehndi was released on 13th November 1998. Mehndi was made on a budget of ₹2 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹2 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by Iqbal Durrani. Cinematography was done by Akram Khan and editing by Waman Bhosle. The music was composed by Babul Bose along with Rani Malik.
