A singer named Suraj discovers that he had a past life with Ratna, a woman who haunts an abandoned palace, and with the help of Jhumri, her reincarnation, they remember their past and consummate their relationship despite conflicts. Mehbooba is a 1976 Indian Hindi-language Drama Romance film featuring Rajesh Khanna, Hema Malini, Prem Chopra, Nazir Hussain, Govardhan Asrani, Asha Sachdev and Yogeeta Bali. Mehbooba was Produced by Mohammad Riaz, Mushir Alam and Mushir-riaz. Mehbooba is written by Gulshan Nanda and directed by Shakti Samanta. Mehbooba was released on 19th July 1976. Mehbooba was made on a budget of ₹22 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹2 crore. Cinematography was done by Aloke Dasgupta and editing by Bijoy Chowdhury. The music was composed by Rahul Dev Burman along with Anand Bakshi.
