A man falls in love with a local girl in Darjeeling, but after being separated for 25 years, he discovers her tragic fate and tries to change the life of her daughter, whom he eventually falls in love with, leading to a complicated relationship that ends in forgiveness and a fresh start. Mausam is a 1975 Indian Hindi-language Musical Romance movie featuring Sharmila Tagore, Sanjeev Kumar, Dina Pathak, Om Shivpuri, Satyen Kappu, C.s.dubey and Saif Ali Khan. The movie is inspired from The Judas Tree by A.J. Cronin. Mausam was Produced by P. Mallikharjuna Rao. Mausam is written by Gulzar Kalra, Bhushan Banmali and Kamleshwar Prasad Saxena and it is directed by Gulzar Kalra. Mausam was released on 29th December 1975 and takes a screen time of 156 minutes. Mausam was made on a budget of ₹49 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹31 crore. Cinematography was done by K. Vaikunth and editing by Waman B. Bhosle and Gurudutt Shirali. The music was composed by Madan Mohan Kohli along with Madan Mohan and Salil Chowdhury. At the 1976 National Film Awards It won an award for Best Actress (Sharmila Tagore). At the 1976 National Film Awards It also won an award for Second Best Feature Film.
