Matilda

A neglected and mistreated young genius named Matilda finds solace in books and fights against the cruel behavior of her tyrannical principal, Miss Trunchbull, with the support of her teacher, Miss Honey, eventually exposing Trunchbull as a murderer and being adopted by Miss Honey. Matilda is a 1996 American English-language Comedy Family movie featuring Danny Devito, Rhea Perlman, Embeth Davidtz, Pam Ferris, Mara Wilson, Paul Reubens and Zoey Rosen. The movie is based on Matilda by Roald Dahl. Jersey Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Michael Shamberg, Stacey Sher, Danny Devito and Felicity Dahl. Matilda is written by Roald Dahl, Nicholas Kazan and Robin Swicord and it is directed by Danny Devito. Sony Pictures Releasing acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Matilda was released on 9th December 1996 and takes a screen time of 98 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. Matilda was made on a budget of $36 million and at the box office it grossed only $33 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Nicholas Kazan and Robin Swicord. Cinematography was done by Stefan Czapsky and editing by Lynzee Klingman and Brent White. The music was composed by David Newman.
