The movie is based on Bol Bachchan. Suresh Productions in association with Sri Sravanthi Movies. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Daggubati Suresh Babu, D.suresh and Sravanthi Ravi Kishore. Masala is written by Anil Ravipudi, Ravi Kishore and Daggubati Suresh Babu and it is directed by Vijay K. Bhaskar and K. Vijaya Bhaskar. Masala was released on 14th November 2013 and takes a screen time of 140 mins. The Film was successful at box office. Masala was made on a budget of ₹18 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹35 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by K. Vijaya Bhaskar. Cinematography was done by Andrew and editing by M.R. Varma. The music was composed by Filmfare Award winner S. Thaman.
