Mankatha

Vinayak Mahadevan, an ACP of Maharashtra Police, is suspended for helping a smuggler escape and later becomes involved in a betting scandal in the IPL cricket league, befriending a group planning a heist and manipulating them while revealing his true intentions to Prithvi, his partner in the scheme, resulting in confrontations and betrayals. Mankatha is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language Action Comedy film featuring Ajith Kumar, Lakshmi Rai, Anjali, Ashwin Kakumanu, Premji Amaren, Mahat Raghavendra and Kainaat Arora. Cloud Nine Movies was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Dhayanidhi Alagiri and Vivek Rathnavel. Mankatha is written by Venkat Prabhu, Dhayanidhi Alagiri, Aqeel Qureshi and Vivek Rathnavel and it is directed by Venkat Prabhu. Sun Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Mankatha was released on 31st August 2011 and takes a screen time of 160 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Mankatha was made on a budget of ₹24 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹130 crore. Cinematography was done by Sakthi Saravanan and editing by Praveen K. L. and N. B. Srikanth. The music was composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
