Mambattiyan

Mambattiyan is a 2011 Tamil action film directed by Thiagarajan, starring his son Prashanth as the titular character. The film, also starring Meera Jasmine, Prakash Raj, Vadivelu and Mumaith Khan in other pivotal roles, is a remake of the 1983 Tamil blockbuster of the same title that starred Thiagarajan himself and Saritha Mambattiyan is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language Action Crime motion picture featuring Meera Jasmine, Mumaith Khan, Prakash Raj, Vadivelu, Prashanth Thiagarajan, Vijayakumar and Hema. The movie is inspired from Malaiyoor Mambattiyan by Rajasekhar. Lakshmi Shanthi Movies was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Shanthi Thiagarajan, Prashanth and Haresh Vikram Vijayakumar. Mambattiyan is written by B. Thyagarajan and directed by B. Thyagarajan and Thiagarajan. Staar Movies acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Mambattiyan was released on 1st September 2011. The Film was successful at box office. Mambattiyan was made on a budget of ₹10 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹16 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by Thiagarajan. Cinematography was done by Anil K Sekar and Shaji Kumar and editing by Don Max. The music was composed by Filmfare Award winner S. Thaman.
