The movie is based on Disney s Sleeping Beauty La Belle au bois dormant by Charles Perrault. Walt Disney Pictures in association with Roth Films. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Joe Roth. Maleficent is written by Paul Dini, Linda Woolverton, Charles Perrault, Milt Banta, Winston Hibler, Bill Peet, Erdman Penner, Joe Rinaldi, Ted Sears and Ralph Wright and it is directed by Robert Stromberg. Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Maleficent was released on 29th May 2014 and takes a screen time of 97 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Maleficent was made on a budget of $180 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $759 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Linda Woolverton. Cinematography was done by Dean Semler and editing by Chris Lebenzon and Richard Pearson. The music was composed by James Newton Howard.
