A former convict named Narayan works on a farmland owned by Ratan Kumar, and after Narayans daughter Gayetri becomes pregnant, Ratan advises Narayan to leave, leading to a series of events involving the birth of Gayetris baby, Narayan taking the child to an orphanage, Gayetri becoming a teacher, and the revelation of Shyams father and Gayetris past.
