Two college students, Seema and Anita, experience the same nightmare and physical wounds, but while Anitas father dismisses her claims, it is revealed that Seemas father is secretly involved with an evil magician named Shakaal who has been kidnapping and sacrificing children, including Anitas sister, until Seema is tragically killed and Anitas boyfriend is fatally bitten by one of Shakaals snakes, leading Anitas father and boyfriend to ultimately confront and kill Shakaal and save Anita from his clutches. Mahakaal is a 1993 Indian Hindi-language Horror film starring Karan Shah, Archana Puran Singh, Reema Lagoo, Johnny Lever, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Mayur Verma and Naushaad Abbas. Scorer Associates in association with BBC Natural History Unit and Discovery Channel. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Gangu Ramsay and Chander Ramsay. Mahakaal is written by Kafil Azar, Sayed Sultan, Y.v. Tyagi and Sayeed Sultan and it is directed by Shyam Ramsay and Tulsi Ramsay. Mondo Macabro acquired the distribution rights for the film. Mahakaal was released on 11th February 1994 and takes a screen time of 143 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Mahakaal was made on a budget of ₹40 lakh and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹99 lakh. Cinematography was done by Gangu Ramsay and editing by Vikas Daripkar and Shyam Gupte. The music was composed by Anand-milind along with K J Sing, Y.v. Tyagi and Vishal.
