Madras Cafe is written by Shubhendu Bhattacharya, Juhi Chaturvedi, Somnath Dey, Dusan Tolmac, Shubendu Bhattacharya and Tushar Jain and it is directed by Shoojit Sircar. Viacom 18 Motion Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Madras Cafe was released on 23rd August 2013 and takes a screen time of 120 minutes. Madras Cafe was made on a budget of ₹35 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹43 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by Somnath Dey, Shubendu Bhattacharya and Dusan Tolmac.
