Kaala is a film about Kaalis involvement in a feud over a wall between two factions of a political party, his love for a politicians daughter, and his vow for revenge after his friend Anbu is assassinated. The film is written and directed by Pa Ranjith. Madras was released on 24th September 2014. The Film was successful at box office. Madras was made on a budget of ₹15 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹55 crore. The music was composed by Santhosh Narayanan. At the 2015 South Filmfare Awards It won 2 awards including: Best Supporting Actress (Riythvika) and Best Male Playback Singer.
