A disgruntled security guard holds a school trip group hostage, while a news reporter forms a bond with him. Mad City is a 1997 American English-language Crime Drama film featuring Dustin Hoffman, John Travolta, Alan Alda, Mia Kirshner, Ted Levine, Robert Prosky and Craig J. Wiles. Arnold Kopelson Productions in association with Punch Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Arnold Kopelson and Anne Kopelson. Mad City is written by Tom Matthews and Eric Williams and it is directed by Costa-gavras. Warner Bros. Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Mad City was released on 16th April 1998 and takes a screen time of 114 minutes. Mad City was made on a budget of $50 million and at the box office it grossed only $10 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Tom Matthews. Cinematography was done by Patrick Blossier and editing by Fran oise Bonnot. The music was composed by Thomas Newman.
