Little Miss Sunshine follows a dysfunctional family on a road trip to a beauty pageant, during which they confront personal setbacks but remain united through it all. Little Miss Sunshine is a 2006 American English-language Comedy Drama film featuring Greg Kinnear, Steve Carell, Toni Collette, Paul Dano, Abigail Breslin, Alan Arkin and Spencer Kayden. Big Beach Films in association with Bona Fide Productions, Deep River Productions and Third Gear Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) David T. Friendly, Marc Turtletaub, Peter Saraf, Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa. Little Miss Sunshine is written by Michael Arndt and directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris. Fox Searchlight Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Little Miss Sunshine was released on 21st September 2006 and takes a screen time of 102 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Little Miss Sunshine was made on a budget of $8 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $101 million. Cinematography was done by Tim Suhrstedt and editing by Pamela Martin. The music was composed by Mychael Danna. At the 2007 Oscar Awards It won 2 awards including: Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role (Alan Arkin) and Best Writing, Original Screenplay.
