The crew of a space shuttle discovers a hidden spaceship with bat-like creatures and suspended humanoid bodies, leading to a battle against a female alien draining humans of their life force with the help of Colonel Carlsen and Colonel Caine until Carlsen sacrifices himself to destroy her and the ship, ending the vampire plague. Lifeforce is a 1985 English-language Action Horror motion picture starring Steve Railsback, Peter Firth, Frank Finlay, Mathilda May, Patrick Stewart, Michael Gothard and Chris Webb. The movie is inspired from The Space Vampires by Colin Wilson. Cannon Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Yoram Globus and Menahem Golan. The movie is directed by Tobe Hooper. TriStar Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Lifeforce was released on 21st June 1985 and takes a screen time of 101-116 minutes. Lifeforce was made on a budget of $25 million and at the box office it grossed only $11 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Dan O Bannon and Don Jakoby. Cinematography was done by Alan Hume and editing by John Grover. The music was composed by Henry Mancini.
