A young Indian boy named Pi and a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker struggle to survive on a lifeboat in the middle of the ocean after their ship sinks. Life Of Pi is a 2012 English-language Adventure Drama motion picture featuring Suraj Sharma, Irrfan Khan, Rafe Spall, Adil Hussain, G Rard Depardieu, Ayush Tandon and Navi Dhanoa. The movie is inspired from Life of Pi by Yann Martel. Fox 2000 Pictures in association with Dune Entertainment, Ingenious Media and Haishang Films. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ang Lee, David Womark and Gil Netter. Life Of Pi is written by Yann Martel and David Magee and it is directed by Ang Lee. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Life Of Pi was released on 29th November 2012 and takes a screen time of 127 minutes. Life Of Pi was made on a budget of $120 million and at the box office it grossed only $20 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by David Magee. Cinematography was done by Claudio Miranda and editing by Tim Squyres. The music was composed by Mychael Danna. At the 2013 Oscar Awards It won 4 awards including: Best Achievement in Directing, Best Achievement in Cinematography, Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures, Original Score and Best Achievement in Visual Effects.
