Letters from Iwo Jima is a 2007 American Japanese-language Drama History movie starring Ken Watanabe, Kazunari Ninomiya, Tsuyoshi Ihara, Ry Kase, Shid Nakamura, Ryo Kase and Jean-luc Julien. The movie is inspired from Picture Letters from Commander in Chief by Tadamichi Kuribayashi Tsuyuko Yoshida. Letters from Iwo Jima was Produced by Clint Eastwood, Robert Lorenz and Steven Spielberg. Letters from Iwo Jima is written by Iris Yamashita, Paul Haggis, Tadamichi Kuribayashi and Tsuyoko Yoshido and it is directed by Clint Eastwood. Warner Bros. acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Letters from Iwo Jima was released on 22nd February 2007 and takes a screen time of 140 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Letters from Iwo Jima was made on a budget of $19 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $68 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Iris Yamashita. Cinematography was done by Tom Stern and editing by Joel Cox and Gary D. Roach. The music was composed by Kyle Eastwood along with Michael Stevens. At the 2007 Oscar Awards It won an award for Best Achievement in Sound Editing.
