A troubled teenager named Eloise moves to London for college and becomes obsessed with the story of a young woman named Sandie from the 1960s who dreams of becoming a singer but is trapped in an abusive relationship; after experiencing menacing apparitions and seeking the truth, Eloise discovers that her landlord, Ms. Collins, is actually Sandie and has killed the men who exploited her, leading to a final confrontation where Ms. Collins is stopped from committing suicide and Ellie finds success as a designer, seeing her mother and a vision of Sandie in the mirror.
