In 1953 Los Angeles, LAPD Sergeant Edmund Exley testifies against corrupt officers, leading to a robbery and murder investigation that uncovers a web of corruption within the police force, ultimately bringing down a powerful figure with the help of fellow officer Bud White, leading to Exley bidding farewell to White and Lynn as they drive away. L.A. Confidential is a 1997 American English-language Crime Drama movie starring Kevin Spacey, Russell Crowe, Guy Pearce, James Cromwell, David Strathairn, Kim Basinger and Anne Zogby. The movie is based on L.A. Confidential by James Ellroy. Regency Enterprises in association with The Wolper Organization. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Arnon Milchan, Curtis Hanson and Michael Nathanson. L.A. Confidential is written by James Ellroy, Brian Helgeland, Curtis Hanson, Dan Kolsrud, Arnon Milchan, Michael G. Nathanson and David L. Wolper and it is directed by Curtis Hanson. Warner Bros. acquired the distribution rights for the movie. L.A. Confidential was released on 20th November 1997 and takes a screen time of 138 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. L.A.
