Kokila

Kokila, a medical college student, takes in a paying guest named Vijayakumar who she falls in love with, however, unbeknownst to her, Vijayakumar ends up having an affair with the housemaid who knows about their relationship, leading to their disappearance and marriage, while naming their child after Kokila. Kokila is a 1977 Indian Kannada-language Drama Romance film featuring Kamal Haasan, Mohan, Shoba, Roja Ramani and Shobha. Kokila was Produced by T. Mocham Fernando. The film is written and directed by Balu Mahendra. G.N. Films acquired the distribution rights for the film. Kokila was released on 7th October 1977 and takes a screen time of 140 minutes. Cinematography was done by Balu Mahendra and editing by Umesh Kulkarni. The music was composed by Salil Choudhury along with Salil Chaudhary. At the 1978 National Film Awards It won an award for Best Cinematography.
