Khubsoorat

In the movie Khubsoorat, a strict mother arranges a marriage for her son but things change when her eldest daughter arrives, befriends the family, falls in love with her older son and performs a play that criticizes her strictness, leading to a better understanding and appreciation for each other. Khubsoorat is a 1980 Indian Hindi-language Comedy Drama movie featuring Ashok Kumar, Rakesh Roshan, Dina Pathak, Ashok Kumar Ganguly, Rekha Ganesan, Shashi Kala and Johnny Lever. Banner Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Hrishikesh Mukherjee and N. C. Sippy. Khubsoorat is written by Shanu Banerjee, Gulzar Kalra, D.n. Mukherjee and Ashok Rawat and it is directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. National General Television Distribution acquired the distribution rights for the film. Khubsoorat was released on 25th January 1980. The screenplay for the movie was written by Shanu Banerjee, Ashok Rawat and Gulzar. Cinematography was done by Jaywant Pathare and editing by Subhash Gupta. The music was composed by Rahul Dev Burman along with R. D. Burman.
