A Parsi widower with four sons decides to remarry and his family clashes with the family of his chosen bride. Khatta Meetha is a 1978 Indian Hindi-language Comedy Family motion picture featuring Ashok Kumar, Pearl Padamsee, Rakesh Roshan, Bindiya Goswami, Devendra Khandelwal, Deven Verma and Sopariwala. Sherali Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Romu N. Sippy, Gul Anand and Romu Sippy. Khatta Meetha is written by Basu Chatterjee and Keka Chatterjee and it is directed by Basu Chatterjee. Ayngaran International acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Khatta Meetha was released on 21st May 1981. Khatta Meetha was made on a budget of ₹35 crore and it was a hit at box office gross of ₹39 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by Basu Chatterjee. Cinematography was done by A. K. Bir and editing by Subhash Gupta. The music was composed by Rajesh Roshan along with Gulzar.

What not Unfortunately, the high points dont stick as the movie swings its genre from a funny take on corruption to seriousness with the death of Urvashi Sharma which makes the movie sloppy in its attempt to please all and play safe that fails to push the material hard enough. ( Read More )
