Kharidaar

The story is about a bedridden widow who wants her children Renu and Raj to get married, but Raj plans to kill his mother with the help of a prostitute to inherit her estate, while Renu is coerced into prostitution by Rajs half-brother, highlighting the dangers of greed and the importance of familial relationships and trust. Kharidaar is a 2000 Hindi-language Drama motion picture featuring Sanath Gunathilake, Geetha Kumarasinghe, Joe Abeywickrama, Kanchana Mendis, Kishore Anand Bhanushali, Mushtaq Khan and Sapna. The movie is based on True incidents. Dil Films International was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Ureka Films. The motion picture is written and directed by Udayakantha Warnasuriya. EAP Theaters acquired the distribution rights for the film. Kharidaar was released on 31st December 1999. Cinematography was done by K. D. Dayananda and editing by Stanley de Alwis. The music was composed by Dilup Gabadamudalige.
