Two men, Thyagarajan and Shivaji, respond to their wives infidelity in contrasting ways, with Thyagarajan resorting to murder and Shivaji sacrificing his freedom to protect his familys honor, showcasing the tragic outcomes and emotional turmoil that can result from betrayal in a marriage. Rajanna Enterprises was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) B. H. Rajanna. Kavariman is written by Panchu Arunachalam and directed by S.p. Muthuraman and S. P. Muthuraman. Rajanna Enterprises acquired the distribution rights for the film. Kavariman was released on 6th April 1979. Cinematography was done by Babu and editing by R. Vittal and T. K. Rajan. The music was composed by Ilaiyaraaja.
