Kasi

The movie explores the life of Kasi, a blind poet and singer who is deceived by the appearances of a wealthy landlord and a powerful ministers son, leading to a tragic turn of events involving the death of his sister. Kasi is a 2001 Indian Tamil-language Drama film starring Vikram, Kavya Madhavan, Kaveri Muralidharan, S Manivannan Rajagopal and Thalaivasal Vijay. The movie is based on Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njaanum. Kasi was Produced by Aroma Mani. Kasi is written by Vinayan Tg and Gokula Krishnan and it is directed by Vinayan Tg. Sunitha Productions acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Kasi was released on 14th November 2001 and takes a screen time of 138 minutes. Cinematography was done by P. Sukumar and editing by G. Murali. The music was composed by National Award winner Ilaiyaraaja. At the 2002 South Filmfare Awards It won an award for Best Actor (Vikram).
