A man named Raghava is possessed by the ghost of a transgender woman, Kanchana, and seeks revenge against the politician who killed her, with the help of an exorcist and his family. Kanchana is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language Comedy Crime film featuring Raghava Lawrence, R. Sarathkumar, Kovai Sarala, Lakshmi Rai, Lawrence Raghavendra, Raai Laxmi and R Sarathkumar. Raghavendra Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Raghava Lawrence. The movie is written and directed by Lawrence Raghavendra and Raghava Lawrence. Sun Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Kanchana was released on 22nd July 2011 and takes a screen time of 170 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Kanchana was made on a budget of ₹5 crore and it was a super hit at box office gross of ₹35 crore. Cinematography was done by Vetri Palanisamy and E. Krishnasamy and editing by Kishore Te. The music was composed by S. Thaman. At the 2012 It won an award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Sarath Kumar).
