Set in Lebanon during the Ottoman Empire, a housekeeper named Kamila, along with her daughter Almitra and a soldier named Halim, try to help a poet and activist named Mustafa escape imprisonment, but he ultimately chooses to be executed, leaving behind his animated poem and asking his friends to protect his work.
