The deaths of two British nationals in Corbett National Park in India lead to a series of tiger attacks, prompting National Geographic correspondent Krish Thapar and his wife Riya to investigate, as they join a group of youngsters who encounter strange occurrences and suspect foul play, ultimately managing to escape the jungle with the help of Bagga and forest officer Bashir Khan, while keeping the truth about Kaali, the culprit behind the deaths, a secret. Kaal is a 2005 Indian Hindi-language Adventure Horror motion picture starring Ajay Devgan, John Abraham, Vivek Oberoi, Esha Deol, Lara Dutta, Parmeet Sethi and Malaika Arora Khan. Kaal was Produced by Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar. The movie is written and directed by Soham Shah. Sony Pictures Networks acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Kaal was released on 29th April 2005 and takes a screen time of 127 minutes. Kaal was made on a budget of ₹4 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹22 lakh. The screenplay for the movie was written by Soham Shah. Cinematography was done by Santosh Thundiyil and editing by Sanjay Sankla. The music was composed by Filmfare Award winner Salim Merchant along with Sulaiman Merchant, Salim Sulaiman and Anand Raj Anand.
