In the DMZ separating North and South Korea, two North Korean soldiers have been killed, supposedly by one South Korean soldier.. Joint Security Area is a 2000 Korean Korean-language Action Drama motion picture featuring Lee Young-ae, Lee Byung-hun, Song Kang-ho, Yeong-ae Lee, Byung-hun Lee, Kang-ho Song and Han-wi Lee. The movie is based on DMZ by Park Sang-yeon. Myung Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Shim Jae-myung and Lee Eun. Joint Security Area is written by Seong-san Jeong, Hyun-seok Kim, Mu-yeong Lee, Chan-wook Park, Sang-yeon Park, Kim Hyun-seok, Jeong Seong-san, Lee Moo-yeong and Park Chan-wook and it is directed by Chan-wook Park and Park Chan-wook. CJ Entertainment acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Joint Security Area was released on 9th September 2000 in Korean ,English ,French and German languages and takes a screen time of 110 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Joint Security Area was made on a budget of ₹30 lakh and it was a super hit at box office gross of $30 million. Cinematography was done by Kim Seong-bok and editing by Kim Sang-bum. The music was composed by Jo Yeong-wook along with Bang Jun-seok.
