A young woman is killed by a shark in a beach town, but the mayor tries to cover it up as a boating accident, resulting in more deaths until a local shark hunter is hired and they successfully hunt and kill the shark. Universal Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the film. Jaws was released on 26th December 1975 and takes a screen time of 124 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Jaws was made on a budget of $7 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $476 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Peter Benchley and Carl Gottlieb. Cinematography was done by Bill Butler and editing by Verna Fields. The music was composed by Academy Award Oscar winner John Williams.
