An orphan, who lives with his two cruel aunts, befriends anthropomorphic bugs who live inside a giant peach, and they embark on a journey to New York City. James and the Giant Peach is a 1996 English-language Animation Adventure film starring Paul Terry, Simon Callow, Richard Dreyfuss, Jane Leeves, Joanna Lumley, Miriam Margolyes and Michael Bell. The movie is based on James and the Giant Peach by Roald Dahl. Walt Disney Pictures in association with Allied Filmmakers and Skellington Productions. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Tim Burton and Denise Di Novi. James and the Giant Peach is written by Roald Dahl, Karey Kirkpatrick, Jonathan Roberts and Steve Bloom and it is directed by Henry Selick. Buena Vista Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. James and the Giant Peach was released on 12th April 1996 and takes a screen time of 79 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. James and the Giant Peach was made on a budget of $38 million and at the box office it grossed only $28 million.
