Iyarkai

Marudhu, a sailor, meets Nandu at a bar in Rameshwaram port and they plan to meet at a lighthouse where Nancy, a woman Marudhu falls in love with, reveals she was waiting for a ship captain she fell in love with three years ago and they decide to search for him together, facing various challenges along the way. Iyarkai is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language Drama Romance motion picture featuring Shaam, Kutty Radhika, Arunkumar, Sima Bisvas, Chinni Jayanth, Aruna Guhan and Arun Vijay. The movie is inspired from White Nights by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. Prisam Films was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) V. R. Kumar, A. E. Gunasekaran and G. Natarajan. The film is written and directed by S.p. Jhananathan and S. P. Jananathan. Prisam Films acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Iyarkai was released on 7th November 2003 and takes a screen time of 140 minutes. Iyarkai was made on a budget of ₹1 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by N. Kalyanakrishnan.
