Issaq is a modern retelling of Romeo and Juliet set in Uttar Pradesh, India, exploring the complexities of love and violence amidst warring clans, sand mafia and Naxalite armies, while offering a contemporary interpretation of Shakespeares classic. Issaq is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language Drama Romance film starring Prateik Babbar, Amyra Dastur, Ravi Kishan, Makarand Deshpande, Neena Gupta, Prashant Narayanan and Rohan Choudhari. Pen India Limited was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Dhaval Gada and Shailesh R Singh. Issaq is written by Pawan Sony, Padmaja Thakore, Manish Tiwary and Padmaja Thakore-tiwary and it is directed by Manish Tiwary. Issaq was released on 26th July 2013. Issaq was made on a budget of ₹25 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹3 crore. Cinematography was done by Vishal Sinha. The music was composed by Krsna Solo along with Sachin Gupta, Sachin Jigar and Prashant Pillai.
