Two terrible lounge singers get booked to play a gig in a Moroccan hotel but somehow become pawns in an international power play between the CIA, the Emir of Ishtar, and the rebels trying to overthrow his regime. Ishtar is a 1987 American English-language Action Adventure motion picture featuring Dustin Hoffman, Warren Beatty, Isabelle Adjani, Charles Grodin, Jack Weston, Tess Harper and Cliff Taylor. Delphi V Productions was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Warren Beatty. The motion picture is written and directed by Elaine May. Columbia Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the movie. Ishtar was released on 15th May 1987 and takes a screen time of 107 minutes. Ishtar was made on a budget of $55 million and at the box office it grossed only $14 million. Cinematography was done by Vittorio Storaro and editing by Richard P. Cirincione, William H. Reynolds and Stephen A. Rotter. The music was composed by Bahjawa along with Dave Grusin and Paul Williams.
