An alien named Zim, who had been absent for some time, returns to confront his human enemy Dib, revealing that his disappearance was to weaken Dib but forgetting his own plan for Phase Two, and ultimately, Dib, with the help of his sister and father, manages to prevent Zim from using a device called the Membracelet to teleport Earth into the path of an invading Armada.
