Zanjeer is a Bollywood film about a police officers struggle to catch a notorious gangster while facing corruption and betrayal. Manish Arts was the production house involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Jimmy Nirula. Insaaf is written by Dayal Nihalani and Dilip Shukla and it is directed by Dayal Nihalani. Time Magnetics Pvt.Ltd acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Insaaf was released on 30th May 1997 and takes a screen time of 155 minutes. Insaaf was made on a budget of ₹38 crore and at the box office it grossed only ₹35 crore. The screenplay for the movie was written by Dilip Shukla. Cinematography was done by Shankar Bardhan and editing by Ashok Shrivastav. The music was composed by Anand Milind.
