Independence Day is written by Dean Devlin and Roland Emmerich and it is directed by Roland Emmerich. 20th Century Fox acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Independence Day was released on 18th July 1996 and takes a screen time of 145 minutes. The Film was successful at box office. Independence Day was made on a budget of $75 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $817 million. Cinematography was done by Karl Walter Lindenlaub and editing by David Brenner. The music was composed by David Arnold. At the 1997 Oscar Awards It won an award for Best Effects, Visual Effects.
