Set in Singapore during the 1997 Asian financial crisis, a Filipino domestic helper named Terry helps the troubled Lim family, particularly their son Jiale, who eventually forms a strong bond with Terry, causing jealousy and financial difficulties for the family until they can no longer afford to keep her, leading to a bittersweet goodbye.
