Set in Singapore during the 1997 Asian financial crisis, a Filipino domestic helper named Terry helps the troubled Lim family, particularly their son Jiale, who eventually forms a strong bond with Terry, causing jealousy and financial difficulties for the family until they can no longer afford to keep her, leading to a bittersweet goodbye. Ilo Ilo is a 2013 Singaporean Hokkien-language Drama Family film starring Chen Tianwen, Yeo Yann Yann, Angeli Bayani, Koh Jia Ler, Yann Yann Yeo, Tian Wen Chen and Wei Jun Lian. Ilo Ilo was Produced by Ang Hwee Sim, Anthony Chen and Wahyuni A. Hadi. The film is written and directed by Anthony Chen. Golden Village Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Ilo Ilo was released on 29th August 2013 and takes a screen time of 99 minutes.
