A severed hand embarks on a journey to reunite with its owner, Naoufel, whose aspirations of becoming a pianist and astronaut are cut short after a car accident kills his parents, leading him to live with his distant relatives in France where he becomes infatuated with a woman named Gabrielle, leading to a strained relationship and his eventual depression, but ultimately finding solace in the view from a crane.
