Hunt for the Wilderpeople

A troubled teenager named Ricky Baker goes to live with his foster aunt and her grumpy husband on a remote farm, but when his aunt passes away and fearing being sent back to child services, Ricky fakes his suicide and runs away into the bush with his dog Tupac, ultimately leading to a national manhunt as he and his foster father figure develop a bond and survive in the wilderness before eventually getting caught, but Ricky reconciles with his foster father after his release from prison and invites him to join his family on a journey to find an extinct bird. Hunt for the Wilderpeople is a 2016 English-language Adventure Comedy movie starring Sam Neill, Julian Dennison, Rhys Darby, Rima Te Wiata, Rachel House, Tioreore Ngatai-melbourne and Sam Wallace. The movie is based on Wild Pork and Watercress by Barry Crump. Hunt for the Wilderpeople was Produced by Carthew Neal, Matt Noonan, Leanne Saunders and Taika Waititi. The film is written and directed by Taika Waititi. Piki Films acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Hunt for the Wilderpeople was released on 22nd January 2016 and takes a screen time of 101 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released and became successful at box office. Hunt for the Wilderpeople was made on a budget of $2 million and it was a super hit at box office gross of $23 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by Taika Waititi.
