After the death of his father, a young boy named Hugo strives to repair an automaton, which leads him to the discovery of a famous filmmaker and ultimately helps him find a new family and purpose in life. Hugo is a 2011 American English-language Adventure Drama motion picture featuring Ben Kingsley, Sacha Baron Cohen, Asa Butterfield, Chlo Grace Moretz, Ray Winstone, Emily Mortimer and Michael Hennessy. The movie is inspired from The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick. GK Films in association with Infinitum Nihil. were the production houses involved in the project along with executive producer(s) Martin Scorsese, Graham King, Johnny Depp, Tim Headington and Timothy Headington. Hugo is written by John Logan and Brian Selznick and it is directed by Martin Scorsese. Paramount Pictures acquired the distribution rights for the motion picture. Hugo was released on 23rd February 2012 and takes a screen time of 126 minutes. and it received positive reviews from critics when it was released. Hugo was made on a budget of $150 million and it was a hit at box office gross of $185 million. The screenplay for the movie was written by John Logan. Cinematography was done by Robert Richardson and editing by Thelma Schoonmaker. The music was composed by Academy Award Oscar winner Howard Shore. At the 2012 Oscar Awards It won 5 awards including: Best Achievement in Cinematography, Best Achievement in Sound Mixing, Best Achievement in Sound Editing, Best Achievement in Visual Effects and Best Achievement in Art Direction.
